Heng Ji and her team have won First Prize on all the tracks that they have participated in 2015

Heng Ji, a PI in IPAN Thrust of NS CTA, and member of the NeST Center at RPI and her team have won the first prize on all the tracks that they have participated in 2015, which were (i) Entity Discovery and Linking, (ii) Event Nugget Detection, (iii) Event Coreference Resolution and (iv) Slot Filling Validation Filtering.
More than 40 teams from the world joined the competition, including the top universities, such as CMU, UIUC and University of Washington, and research institutes, such as IBM, MSR and BBN.
NIST Knowledge Base Population (KBP) http://www.nist.gov/tac/2015/KBP/ aims to automatically extract and populate knowledge from a large amount of unstructured texts. It is the largest international research competition in various NLP fields including Information Extraction and Question Answering.
