Jim Hendler is Recipient of Strata Data Innovation Award

Nov. 12, 2012: Dr. Jim Hendler, head of the Department of Computer Science and senior constellation professor in the Tetherless World Constellation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been honored with an inaugural Strata Data Innovation Award 2012. SCNARC/INARC Wins Best Paper Award at CIKM 2012

Nov. 05, 2012: Authors Hanghang Tong, B. Aditya Prakash, Tina Eliassi-Rad, Michalis Faloutsos, and Christos Faloutsos of the paper titled "Gelling, and Melting, Large Graphs by Edge Manipulation" received the Best Paper Award at the 2012 International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM) in Maui, Hawaii in October 2012. Only one such award was given at the conference, and this paper was chosen out of 1099 submissions and 146 accepted as full papers. This is a cross-center close collaboration with SCNARC and INARC. Professor James Hendler selected as 2011 AAAS Fellow

Jan. 10, 2012: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Professor James Hendler was selected as a 2011 Fellow for the American Association of Science (AAAS). Professor Hendler serves as the experimental coordinator of SCNARC.  He is also a senior constellation professor and the head of the Information Technology and Web Science program at RPI.  In addition to being awarded as an AAAS Fellow, Prof. Hendler is a fellow of IEEE and the American Association for Artificial Intelligence. SCNARC researcher Laszlo Barabasi awarded international prize for research

Jun. 22, 2011: Albert-László Barabási, a world-renowned network scientist at Northeastern University, has received the 2011 Lagrange-CRT Foundation Prize for his body of research on complex networks in natural, technological and social systems. 

The prize, which includes a $71,800 cash award, is given by the Institute for Scientific Interchange Foundation, in Turin, Italy.

“Winning the award was pleasantly surprising,” said Barabási, a Distinguished Professor of Physics with joint appointments in biology and the College of Computer and Information Science, and the founding director of Northeastern’s Center for Complex Network Research (CCNR). (more)
