NEST reserchers: Dr. Boleslaw Szymanski (PI), Drs. Al Wallace and Tom Sharkey (Co-PIs), received funding as a partner team to DHS new Center of Excellence.

Department of Homeland Security awarded recently DHS S&T Criminal Investigation and Network Analysis Center of Excellence (CINA), a $40 million 10-year grant with 20million for the lead organization, GMU, and 2million each to 10 partners. One of the partner grants funded by DHS was awarded to the proposal titled "Detecting and Disrupting Transnational Criminal Organizations" submitted by NeST researchers: PI, Dr. Boleslaw Szymanski, and Co-PIs, Drs. Al Wallace and Tom Sharkey. The kickoff meeting of the new Center and its partners is planned at the DHS and GMU locations in the second half of September.
